Confections for Any Occasion Launches “Chocolates for a Cause” Food Drive for Area Pantry

Theresa, Wis., December 5, 2012— Hunger during the holidays is unfortunately the reality for more than 570,000 Wisconsinites. According to UW-Extension Report “Fighting hunger in Wisconsin communities”, 1 in 11 households struggle to put food on the table during the holidays and all year-round. That’s why, Confections for Any Occasion, a chocolate shop in downtown Theresa, is asking shoppers to help their neighbors in need by bringing non-perishable goods for chocolates.

Now thru January, 31, 2013, Confections for Any Occasion encourages holiday shoppers to bring any non-perishable food item(s) to their shop located at 101 N. Milwaukee Street, Theresa, WI that will be given to the Mayville Food Pantry.

“For every non-perishable food item you bring into our shop you will be entered to win a $25 gift certificate for our chocolates”, says Joel Bernhard, owner and blind candy maker of Confections for Any Occasion. “The more canned goods one brings in the more chances to win chocolates and satisfaction of helping area families in need.”

Kelly Baumann, Director of the Mayville Food Pantry, explains how neighbors can help local families in need. “Together we can make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. We are very appreciative of Joel and his staff’s kind-heartedness to help feed local families that are unable to push away from the table with full bellies.”

When bringing in food pantry items, one can also shop for luscious chocolates made fresh from the kitchen of Confections.
